Design

(Latin Designare - to plan) is a conscious, purposeful and systematic creative process aimed at developing a plan or model of a future object, system or service to solve a specific problem or satisfy a specific need.

Required components.

• Intentionality. Not random, but purposeful activity aimed at achieving a certain result.
• Constraints (context). Acting within the constraints of budget, laws of physics, available materials, time and ergonomics.
• Iterative. The process is rarely straightforward. It is trial and error, testing prototypes and constant improvement of the initial concept.
• Usability: Unlike pure art, it is almost always intended to serve someone other than the creator.
